SG Finans granted Eco-Lighthouse certification

SGEF in Scandinavia (SG Finans) is the first financial institution in Norway granted Eco-Lighthouse certification according to the new criteria-set specific for the financial sector.

"The new Eco-Lighthouse criteria for the financial sector is a set of practical tools that will help financial institutions meet the recommendations and challenges identified in Finance Norway's "Roadmap for green competitiveness in the financial industry". The financial industry has a crucial role along the road towards a low-carbon, sustainable economy. "We are pleased to see SG Finans taking important steps in the right direction," Agathe Schjetlein, Sustainability Director at Finance Norway, commented.

Carsten Thorne, CEO at SG Finans commented:

"Our strategy clearly states that our portfolios should be healthy and balanced with a sound risk culture and risk profile. There is no doubt that climate risk will be weighed more heavily in our business decisions going forward. The Eco-Lighthouse certification is a solid proof of quality for SG Finans. All our employees, customers and partners should be confident in the fact that we are committed to focus on sustainability in everything we do".
